Depression isn't just sadness. It's that sense of shutdown, of nothing appealing, of running on autopilot with no energy. Sometimes it follows a loss or a life change; other times it appears for no clear reason. Either way, there's a way out, and you don't have to find it alone.
Signs it can help you

Frequently asked questions
How do I tell normal sadness apart from depression?
Sadness is a natural, passing emotion that appears in certain situations, whereas depression is more intense and lasting, and affects the way you think, sleep, eat and enjoy things. When low energy, hopelessness or loss of interest persist for weeks, it is a good idea to ask for help. In our first contact we can assess together how you are feeling.
I barely have the strength even to book an appointment, can therapy still help me?
Yes, and it is completely understandable that you feel this way, because low energy and lack of motivation are part of depression itself. In therapy we start slowly, respecting your pace and without demands, with small, achievable steps. You do not need to arrive full of energy: simply wanting to feel better is enough to begin.
Do I need antidepressants or can I treat it with therapy alone?
It depends on each case. In mild or moderate depression, psychological therapy can be enough, while in more severe cases it is usually recommended to combine it with medical treatment. As a health psychologist I do not prescribe medication, but I can guide you and work in coordination with your doctor when appropriate.
What will we do in sessions to improve my mood?
We will work to understand what keeps your distress going, gradually recover activities that bring you well-being, and review those very self-critical thoughts that often appear. All of this with close support tailored to what you need at each moment.
How much does treatment for depression cost?
Fees are discussed with no obligation during the first contact, where you can also raise any questions you have. The idea is for you to decide calmly and without pressure whether you want to start the process.
